Expando iPod Touch and iPhone Game Removed From Apps Chart

Today, the Expando Game has been removed from the iTunes App Store Charts. It's still available for purchase, but it no longer holds a position in the Top 100.

I recently 'called out' the Expando game for exploiting the sales chart by offering the game free for 10,000 users and then making the game a 'paid' app.

I have no problem with a developer deciding to start charging for their app/game. We all have to make a living, but their #1 Position in the 'Paid Apps Chart' was based on the free downloads.

That itself, is not entirely their fault. It's a loop hole in the iTunes App Store that has been highlighted numerous times, but as yet not actioned by the good people at iTunes.

The reason I called out Expando was becuase they weren't just a 'victim' of the loop hole. They went out of their way to exploit the loop hole.

Well today it appears iTunes have reacted by removing the game from the charts. Whether it was done by fixing the loop hole, or manually removing it has yet to be established. Either way, good job iTunes!
