AdMob giving away $1,000,000 of Advertising to iPhone Developers

UPDATE 3rd August 2008: This AdMob promotion looks to be a sham! I've been doing the math based on my experience of being a both an Advertiser and a Publisher using the AdMob Mobile Advertising Network.

Bottom line: I paid 63 cents per click to get my ad across the iPhone sites on the AdMob network, but I was only being paid as little as 3 cents per click for showing ads on my own iPhone webapps and sites.

So to give away £1million worth of advertising to iPhone pubishers, it's only going to cost AdMob $48,000 if they're only paying 3 cents per click, but charging 63 cents per click. As they did me.

AdMob giving away $1,000,000 of Advertising to iPhone Developers

Admob, the Mobile Advertising network, are celebrating the launch of their new iPhone Developer and Advertiser Tools by setting aside $1,000,000 worth of advertising credits on their network for iPhone Developers.

AdMob say "We will select up to 200 iPhone developers to receive $5,000 in AdMob advertising credit to acquire traffic for their web & native apps".

To be eligible to participate in the program you will need to register as an AdMob user (and opt in to the program) and set up iPhone ads on your web or native application.
