Scams aimed at iPod users

I've been meaning to highlight these scams aimed at iPod owners for a while. I just came across another one. The offer looks great and the site is very enticing, but it provides very little or no value to anyone who parts with cash.

So what's the offer?

This taken from the offending site...

We have a vast selection of music available for download. Songs, full albums, not to mention other downloads like software, images, ebooks, and more!

You get all of this by taking out a lifetime membership for $37.

What You ACTUALLY Get

Any attempt to browse what's really on offer results in you being presented with the $37 sign up form. Now in principle, I don't really have a problem with a service not disclosing the complete database of iPod goodies available, but these guys do it for one reason only... they have f*ck all to give you!

Buried at the bottom of their sign up page is a dislaimer (they colour the text so you don't notice it - twats!)

Bottom line? Instead of loads of iPod downloads you just get a list of links to other sites that have downloads. The same sites can be found by doing a search on Google.

This one can be found at ipodblender.com (obviously not going to link to it), but I've seen 4 or 5 variations of the same site. Fairly sure it's the same people. They also do versions for owners of the Sony PSP. I'll add the other iPod scam sites and services as I come across.
