I was gutted when I saw the iPhone ship in the USA. I sat, green with envy watching the BBC News 24 coverage of those first customers walking out of the shop waving their glossy bags. "Yeah you tosser, gotta charge it up first"! I cursed Apple for not having a same day global roll out of the iPhone, or at least a sameday roll out in the USA & UK roll out. I mean, we're supposed to be friends aren't we? So I resolved to put it to the back of my mind and wait for the 'sometime-in-2008' launch in the UK. Today, Chris Nuttall over at the the FT.com Tech Blog has made my day with his article, Reasons to be touchy about the iPhone... So those who queued for days for an iPhone before its launch on June 29 have now been made to look double doofuses by Apple. Continue reading Reasons to be touchy about the iPhone To be honest, I don't need a new mobile phone. I just wanted the coolest iPod, with the touchy-feely screen. Yes I would have bought one, yes I would have changed mobile operator is neccessary, not sure I'd have camped in the High Street though. Now I'll just hold out for the new iPod Touch. Without the need to work with a UK mobile operator on the launch, I'm betting I'll have an iPod Touch before the iPhone hits the UK. So, unless someone else comes along in the next two days, with news that I've saved a shed load of cash, Chris has made my week!
